Cheyenne Woman Accused of Physically Injuring 6-Year-Old

A 32-year-old Cheyenne woman is out on bond after being charged with felony child abuse.

According to a booking sheet, the Laramie County Sheriff's Office arrested Cinnamon Marie Greenwald at 5:18 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9.

It's alleged that the day prior, Greenwald intentionally or recklessly inflicted physical injury upon a 6-year-old, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Initial Court Appearance

On Friday, Sept. 12, Greenwald was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Sean C. Chambers on the charge.

Chambers appointed Greenwald a public defender and her preliminary hearing was set for Thursday, Sept. 18, at 3:30 p.m.

Chambers then asked for the state's bond recommendation.

"Ms. Greenwald has a bit of criminal history out of Oregon," the state said, citing prior failures to appear as well as a probation violation. "That certainly gives the state concern for Ms. Greenwald's ability to comply with court orders."

"The nature of (this charge) gives the state very serious concerns for the safety of the victim," the state added. "For those reasons the state would request a $2,500 cash bond."

Out on Bond

Chambers adopted the state's recommendation and Greenwald, later that afternoon, posted the $2,500 needed to get out of jail.
