It's alleged that on June 26, 2023, Curry attempted to steal $4,500 from Jonah Bank and made, completed, executed, or authenticated a writing that purported to be the act of Jonah Bank.

It's also alleged that on June 27, 2023, Curry, with an intent to defraud a man, wrote four checks issued to him totaling $8,881.29, knowing them to be forged.

Initial Court Appearance

On Friday, Nov. 7, Curry was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Sean C. Chambers on the charges.

Chambers appointed Curry a public defender and his preliminary hearing was set for Friday, Nov. 14, at 9 a.m.

Chambers then asked for the state's bond recommendation.

"Mr. Curry has an extensive criminal history with a multitude and varying charges," the state said. "Notably, he has a history of failures to appear, most of them date back quite some time, however, the most recent was Sept. 28 of this year. He has a history of parole violations and contempts of court. He also has a lack of ties to the community giving the state concern for his ability to follow court orders as well as the severity of these charges, the state would recommend a $5,000 cash bond."

Bond Set at $5K Cash

"I'm going to set a $5,000 cash only bond," Chambers told Curry. "If you're able to post that I'll set conditions."

Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
