A Hillsdale duo being sought on felony theft and conspiracy charges is now behind bars.

According to booking sheets, a detective with the Laramie County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at 3853 Road 223 in Cheyenne on Tuesday, April 9.

Search Warrant Leads to 2 Arrests, 18 Felony Theft and Conspiracy Charges

Twenty-four-year-old Kylea Rae Baier and 48-year-old Michael Lee Smith, who both reside at 3848 Road 223 in Hillsdale, were located during the search and arrested.

Both had a warrant out of Laramie County Circuit Court for eight counts of felony theft and one count of conspiracy.

Baier's warrant was signed on April 3 and Smith's on April 8.

Smith was also found to have felony warrants out of Platte and Converse counties and Boulder County, Colorado.

The two made their initial appearances in Circuit Court on Wednesday morning, during which Baier's bond was set at $15,000 cash and Smith's at $25,000 cash, and their preliminary hearings were scheduled for April 18 at 2 p.m.

On April 6 and 7, 2024, wild winds exceeding 90 mph blew through SE Wyoming, causing havoc in Cheyenne and on the interstate. Everything from fences to semis were upturned in the wind storm. Check out the damage shared by residents below.
