A 32-year-old Cheyenne mother is behind bars after allegedly using fentanyl around her kids.

According to a booking sheet, Nicole Ashley Fank was arrested at her apartment in the 5800 block of Lunsford Drive at noon on Thursday, Jan. 18, after a detective with the Cheyenne Police Department found probable cause that she knowingly permitted her two minor children, whom she had care and custody of, to remain in the apartment, where she used fentanyl.

Fank was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on two counts of endangering a child with a controlled substance, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $5,000, or both.

Fank is scheduled to make her initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court this afternoon, Jan. 19, at 1:30 p.m.

UPDATE:

Fank made her initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Friday afternoon, Jan. 19, during which her bond was set at $5,000 at 20% and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for next Friday, Jan. 26 at 10:15 a.m.
