Police Catch Wanted Cheyenne Man Inside Vehicle at Car Dealership
A 45-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after reportedly breaking into a car dealership.
According to a booking sheet, police were called to Tyrrell Chevrolet at 2142 W. Lincolnway at about 1:43 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7 for a male seen on camera looking into vehicles with a flashlight.
A Large Cut in the Fence
Police say there was a red SUV parked on the north side of the fenced-in parking lot and a large cut in the fence next to it, and they found Demetrius Maynard Coletti inside a vehicle inside the fenced area.
Police say dispatch confirmed Coletti had an active warrant out of Laramie County for failure to pay $370 on original charges of breach of peace and property destruction, which was signed on May 7, 2024.
When officers searched Coletti, they reportedly found a small bag containing a white powdery substance which Coletti said was methamphetamine.
Coletti Charged With Burglary, Meth Possession
Coletti was arrested and subsequently charged with burglary, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both, and misdemeanor possession of methamphetamine.
Coletti made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Monday, Sept. 9, during which his total bond was set at $3,370 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Monday, Sept. 16 at 10 a.m.
Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
