A 32-year-old Hudson, Colorado man is facing a felony charge after allegedly strangling his girlfriend.

Accused Girlfriend Beater Found Hiding in a Field

According to a booking sheet, Brandon Lee Keller was arrested at 1:23 a.m. Sunday after a Laramie County Sheriff's deputy responding to a third-party report of a female having been assaulted by her boyfriend found him hiding in a field.

The deputy says the report was that Keller was having sex with his girlfriend when he called her the wrong name, she became upset, and he started to strangle and punch her.

Keller then reportedly fled the scene but was found hiding approximately .75 miles to the north in a field and was arrested without incident.

Cuts, Bruising, and Blood Across Her Entire Face

The deputy says the victim suffered visible injuries to her face and neck, including cuts and bruising, and had blood across her entire face, and told him that Keller covered her mouth and nose with his hand and then a pillow, and said he was going to "end her."

Two separate witnesses also reportedly told the deputy that they saw Keller "bear hug" the victim from behind, and restrain her from leaving the house.

The deputy says Keller didn't remember what started the fight, said he had not previously battered the victim, and indicated other things were going on, but wouldn't elaborate.

Keller made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court Tuesday morning, during which his bond was set at $5,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for next Thursday, Sept. 12 at 2:30 p.m.
