Laramie County Emergency Management: Avoid Unnecessary Travel
Laramie County Emergency Management is advising people to avoid unnecessary travel.
The agency posted the following on Facebook:
Laramie County is currently experiencing extremely high winds that are creating hazardous conditions across the area. Blowing debris, reduced visibility, and dangerous travel conditions are being reported.
We strongly encourage residents to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel until conditions improve.
Call 911 only for life-threatening emergencies. If the situation is not life or death, please contact the appropriate non-emergency number so emergency responders can remain available for critical incidents.
All emergency services are actively monitoring conditions and responding where Jazmine Villaneeded. We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we work through this event.
Please continue to monitor official channels for updates.
The Tate Geological Museum Casper Wyoming
The Tate Geological Museum was founded in 1980 through a gift from Marion and Inez Tate. It was originally designated as the Tate Earth Science Center and Mineralogical Museum. Because ‘geological’ encompasses earth science, mineralogy, and paleontology, the name was changed to the Tate Geological Museum in 2001.
Located on the Casper College campus, the museum is a great resource for the community. Many local schools and groups come to the museum to add to their student's learning experience.
Tate houses a collection of over 6000 fossil and mineral specimens.
