Bones Came From Bone Cabin Quarry
Sothebys reports the bones came from the Bone Cabin Quarry near Laramie, where they were found in 1996. Sotheby's says the skeleton was composed of of "139 original fossil bone elements with additional sculpted material."
The quarry is located about 55 miles northwest of Laramie near Como Bluff.
According to Wikipedia the quarry was discovered in 1897 when a paleontologist from the American Museum of Natural History, Walter Granger, found a hillside littered with dinosaur bone fragments from the Jurassic period. A cabin nearby was made up of bone fragments, giving the quarry it's name.
