A fire that forced emergency evacuations in the Fish Creek Ranch area of Albany County has now been contained, according to Albany County Emergency Management;

The agency posted the following on its Facebook page:

''The Fish Creek Fire has been contained!
Tie Siding Volunteer Fire Department will continue to monitor the area, but all other resources are being released at this time.
"A huge thanks to all of our resources, we appreciate each and every one for their help and great attitudes. They leave tire tracks and great memories." - Tie Siding VFD.'

Fire Prompted Emergency Evacuation Order

On Tuesday evening, July 21, an emergency evacuation was ordered in a two-mile radius around Fish Creek Ranch and the Cherokee Park Area. The Albany County Fairgrounds was set up at that point as an Evacuation Center.
Evacuations were lifted on Thursday, July 23.
While the fire had been estimated at around 25-30 acres in size at one point,  that estimate has since been revised to around 17 acres.
