Text Asks For Opinions Of Wyoming Political Figures

The text purports to ask people's opinions of various Wyoming political figures, ranging from Rep. Harriet Hageman to Gubernatorial candidate Eric Barlow to former Wyoming Wyoming U.S. Senate candidate Reid Rasner, who is rumored to be considering another run for statewide office.

Several other state politicians are mentioned.

It also asks people how conservative or liberal they are and a range of other political questions.

It's unclear the who is sending the scam texts, although it appears to be someone with some knowledge of Wyoming politics.

But according to a post on the Laramie County Government Facebook page, it isn't originating with Laramie County officials:

"We have received reports of a phone scam where a text message is being sent from an unknown caller requesting the parties’ thoughts by taking a Laramie County Issues Survey with an included link. This is not from the County and do NOT click the link.
What you need to know:
🚩Laramie County will NOT ask for your personal information via text message.
🚩If you have any questions or county business, please contact the specific county offices.
🚩Please remain mindful about fraudulent text messages and phone calls"
