The Larimer County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fire that destroyed a home near Highway 14 in Bellvue on Tuesday and prompted a voluntary evacuation.

A dead body was found inside the home as well. That's according to a post on the sheriff's office Facebook page.

According to the post, at 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5 the sheriff's office got a call about fire in the 8700 block of West Highway 14 (Poudre Canyon Road approaching Greyrock Trailhead). Poudre Canyon Fire Protection District firefighters, LCSO deputies, UCHealth EMS, and LCSO Emergency Services all responded to the blaze.

Firefighters were able to contain the fore by sunrise, but because of a Red Flag Fire Alert being in effect, some remained in the area, just to be safe.

A Body Is Found In The Rubble

The fire was estimated at under an acre, but a home was destroyed in the blaze. Because of extremely dangerous conditions when the fire was burning, no one had been able to enter the home to see if anyone was inside. But as crime scene investigators combed through the rubble, they did find a dead body. The name of the victim as well as how they died have not been released.

According to the release  "Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Sgt. Chad McGuire at 970-498-7041. People who want to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers of Larimer County at 970-221-6868 or www.stopcriminals.org.."
