What is Meals on Wheels?
The Cheyenne Meals on Wheels website defines it's mission as follows: The mission of Meals on Wheels of Cheyenne, Inc is to support the independence, health and well-being of individuals living in Cheyenne and Laramie County with an expressed need for nutritional support through the delivery of nutritious meals, friendly visits and safety checks.

According to the release from Walmart: “We had an amazing time volunteering at Meals on Wheels this past year. It is great to be able to give back to an organization that provides so much to our community,” Matthew Webber, store manager.
“We are incredibly grateful to Walmart Stores 1315 and 4653 for their generous $20,000 grant. This support will significantly enhance our ability to meet the nutritional needs of Laramie County residents. With this funding, we can continue to provide nutritious meals, friendly visits, and safety checks to those who need it most. Walmart’s commitment to our community, through both financial support and volunteer efforts, is truly inspiring and deeply appreciated.” Stephane Freeman, Meals on Wheels director
Meals on Wheels of Cheyenne serves over 12,500 meals to Laramie County residents each month. They also launched a pet program, AniMEALS, which distributes pet food and supplies to their client’s companion animals. Walmart Cheyenne also does monthly volunteering in the kitchen helping to prepare meals.
Meals on Wheels America is a national organization. The Cheyenne Meals on Wheels was launched in 1970, serving about 20 meals a day. From that rather modest start it has grown to an organization that serves over 400 meals a day to Laramie County residents.
