A 48-year-old Cheyenne man wanted on a Laramie County District Court warrant for failure to comply will spend the next year in jail after leading police on a chase.

Police say it all started around 10:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, when they were called to the Albertson's at 3355 E. Pershing Blvd. in relation to a wanted person.

Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with Eugene Garrido in a black SUV, but the SUV fled the parking lot.

Officers followed the SUV and initiated a traffic stop, but Garrido tried to elude them.

Garrido was eventually stopped and arrested on the warrant as well as three misdemeanor charges -- two for drug possession and one for eluding.

Garrido pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charges Wednesday morning in Laramie County Circuit Court and was sentenced to 90 days for each possession charge and 180 days for the eluding charge.
