Wanted Man With ‘History of Violence’ Arrested in Cheyenne
A wanted Oklahoma City man with a "history of violence" is behind bars following a "high-risk warrant service" at a Cheyenne home Tuesday morning, police say.
Public Information Officer Alex Farkas says the SWAT team was deployed to 1406 E. 18th Street at approximately 11:30 a.m. after it was determined that 29-year-old Manuel Kevin Duncan, who had an outstanding violent felony warrant for his arrest, was at the home.
"Upon arrival at the residence, the SWAT team attempted to communicate with Duncan, asking him to exit," Farkas in a news release said Wednesday.
"Following several commands, the situation was brought to an end at 11:50 a.m. when Duncan surrendered, walking out the front door with both hands raised," Farkas added.
Duncan was taken into custody and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on his existing warrant for aggravated assault with injury with a deadly weapon.
Out of an abundance of caution, Alta Vista Elementary School was placed on a secure perimeter and staffed with additional school resource officers during the warrant service.
