20 Inches Of Snow, 50 MPH Winds Now Possible In SE Wyoming Mountains
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has now issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Sierra Madre and Snowy Range Mountains in southeast Wyoming.
That compares to a less-severe Winter Weather Advisory which had been in effect.
The agency posted the following at 1:15 p.m. on February 10:
"The Winter Weather Advisories for the Sierra Madre and Snowy Ranges have been upgraded to Winter Storm Warnings from 5 AM Wednesday through 11 AM Thursday. 12 to 20 inches of snow is expected in the mountains, with locally higher amounts possible near the peaks. Outdoor recreation could become life threatening, use caution and be prepared. Snow accumulation outside of the mountains will be slim to none, likely only a dusting in most locations."
