CHEYENNE — A total of 135 student-athletes were enrolled in the spring semester at Laramie County Community College, and the overall student-athlete GPA was 2.98 for the fall 2011 semester.

The student-athletes took the “student” part of their titles seriously, as 69 (51 percent) of them earned a 3.0 GPA or better, and 35 (26 percent) earned a 3.5 or better.

Even more impressive, 12 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA. They are Zahimara Fantuazzi from the women’s soccer team; Bruno Machado of the basketball team; men’s soccer players Cameron Clark, Spencer Gray, Taylor Ruff and Rafael Santos; women’s rodeo team members Bailey Adair and Lacey Carrol; and Kayla Fisk, Jessie Johnson, Daniela Kinateder and Jordan Matthews of the equestrian team.

Team GPAs were 2.57 for basketball, 3.13 for men’s soccer, 2.90 for men’s rodeo, 3.14 for women’s rodeo, 2.87 for women’s soccer, 3.21 for volleyball, 3.26 for the equestrian team and 2.59 for spirit squad.
