In light of a severe winter storm which is expected to hit southeast Wyoming Wednesday and Thursday, Laramie County School District One officials are reminding parents and others about the procedure for notifying the public about school closures.

According to the district, the district will issue a robocall to parents and anyone else on the call list by 5:30 a.m. on the day in question.

The call is only made if all schools in the district are closed. in the words of the release,  "If you do not receive a call, that means school is in session!"

However, in cases where only the district's rural schools --Gilchrist, Willadsen, and Clawsen,--are closed, the robocall system will not be activated. But local media outlets, including Townsquare Media of Cheyenne, will be notified and will publicize the information.

People can also visit the district website for updates on school closures.
