Despite an hour delay for lightning in the middle of their set, Metallica still rocked Denver's Mile High Stadium Wednesday night.

The band hit the stage around 9:00 p.m. after sets from openers Volbeat and Avenged Sevenfold, by 9:30 p.m. a lightning storm rolled through the area with a couple very close strikes. The venue decided to have the building evacuate to the concourse after just five songs, but after about an hour delay the heavy metal legends returned to play a shortened set.

The Mile High Stadium neighborhood has an 11:00 p.m. curfew, so the group couldn't play as many songs as there were on the initial setlist.

They did however perform many of their hits which were recorded from different vantage points around the stadium. Check out some of our favorites!
