Dick Blust says a court clerk notified deputies on Wednesday afternoon that a man appeared to be smoking meth in his car in the parking lot of the Sweetwater County Office Building at 731 C Street in Rock Springs. Blust says deputies confronted the man, identified as 28 year old Chadwick Cherny of Rock Springs, and observed that he was under the influence of a stimulant. Blust says Cherny admitted he had drugs on his person and handed over a small plastic bag containing a white, crystalline substance which Cherny said was meth. Cherny was arrested and charged with possession of meth. At last report he was in custody in the Sweetwater County Detention Center and was being held in lieu of $600 cash or surety bond.
