Man Indicted in Cheyenne Mail Theft, Bank Fraud Scheme

A man has been indicted by a federal grand jury after allegedly engaging in a mail theft and bank fraud scheme.

Corey Allen Snyder is charged with destruction of letter boxes, possession of stolen mail, three counts of bank fraud and aggravated identity theft.

An indictment filed May 24 alleges Snyder broke into post office boxes in Cheyenne on March 15 and stole mail, namely a letter containing a debit card and PIN number and letters containing credit card convenience checks.

The next day, Snyder allegedly used the stolen debit card to make two ATM withdrawals totaling $900.

He's also accused of trying to deposit two credit card convenience checks into the debit card owner's checking account at an ATM on March 17.

Snyder's detention hearing has yet to be scheduled.  If convicted, he could face two to 100 years in prison.​​
