Have you ever wanted to display your talents on stage?

Here's your chance, auditions for this Summer's "Old-Fashioned Melodrama" are tonight through Thursday night, May 23-26, at the Atlas Theatre on Lincolnway in downtown Cheyenne starting at 6:30 p.m.

This year's melodrama is titled "Dirty Deeds at the Depot" or "Professor Mack's Miracle Elixir of Life" or "Justin Tyme To Save the Day" and is being directed by Barb Jalonen.

According to Cheyenne Little Theatre.org, auditions for characters in the cast, Can Can dancers, Master of Ceremonies, Sheriffs and Card Girl parts are Monday and Tuesday.

If you sing, do magic, tell jokes or have another kind of unique talent, auditions for Olio acts are on Wednesday and Thursday. They perform between the acts of the Melodrama throughout the Summer.

The cast of characters includes:

  • Justin Tyme - (The Hero) he is the new stationmaster for Cheyenne’s Union Pacific Depot and the childhood sweetheart of Lacie Camisole
  • Lacie Camisole -(The Heroine) sweet as the scent of sage and lovely as a Wyoming breeze, this innocent beauty is betrothed to marry Dusty Rhodes, but in love with Justin Tyme
  • Professor Thaddeus Mack -(The Villain) the dastardly deviant who thwarts the desires of all good upstanding people in the new state of Wyoming
  • Claire Voyant - an old friend of the lovely Lacie Camisole and a traveling soothsayer from Madam Zorinda’s Circus
  • Duncan Disorderly - sidekick to Professor Mack and half-brother to Helen Highwater
  • Helen Highwater - the local school marm and best friend of Lacie Camisole
  • Dusty Rhodes - selected by Lacie’s father to be her new husband
  • Gerry Mander - Wyoming state judge, mayor of Cheyenne, law enforcement officer, telegraph operator, and a leading proponent of equality in the new state of Wyoming. This character needs to be a mature age and can be either male or female.

The Cheyenne Little Theatre Players 55th Annual Old-Fashioned Melodrama runs July 14-August 7 at the Historic Atlas Theatre.
