Men Sentenced in Wheatland Carjacking, Cheyenne Pharmacy Robbery

The last of three New Mexico men charged in a multi-state crime spree, including a carjacking and pharmacy robbery in Wyoming, was sentenced Monday to 35 years in prison.

Antoine Mitchell and his co-defendants, Moses D. Dickens III and Christopher Dominguez, were indicted by a federal grand jury in Wyoming in May 2017.

On Oct. 6, 2016, the trio kidnapped a woman at gunpoint in Wheatland and dropped her at a remote location west of town before driving her SUV and their own car to the Medicap Pharmacy in Cheyenne.

There, they fired shots and demanded painkillers, including OxyContin and Oxycodone.

"They came in shooting," said pharmacist Jackson Quick, who was hit in the upper thigh.  "There were 15 shots fired on that day, the first 10-11 were not from me."

After exchanging gunfire with Quick, the three fled in the SUV, abandoned it shortly thereafter and left Wyoming in their own car.

"What happened that day forever changed my life and the life of my family," said Quick's wife Pamela.

The three were arrested on Dec. 3, 2016 in Raton, New Mexico after robbing another pharmacy at gunpoint and leading police on a high-speed chase.

Eventually, both the Wyoming and New Mexico cases were consolidated and the men took plea deals.

Dickens was sentenced to 35 years and Dominguez to 28 years in prison.
