Mini Horse Showdown: Cowboy Joe vs. Li’l Sebastian [POLL]
One is the beloved mascot for the University of Wyoming, one is a television icon, famous for his role in the sitcom Parks and Recreation. But which miniature horse stands taller, Cowboy Joe or Li'l Sebastian?
Here's the tale of the tape:
The legend of Cowboy Joe began in 1950 when a rancher discovered an orphaned colt. After the pony was nursed back to health, he was donated to the University of Wyoming. Nearly 70 years and five generations later, the tradition lives on with Cowboy Joe V. In 2013, he was named the cutest mascot in college sports.
Like Cowboy Joe in Wyoming, Li'l Sebastian is a local legend in Indiana, where he served as a goodwill ambassador and was captain of the Great Lakes Ski Patrol and Emergency Rescue Team.
"Sebastian may have been li’l, but his impact was anything but li’l," Leslie Knope wrote following his death in 2011.
During his 23 years, Li'l Sebastian sired over 200 offspring, entertained millions of fans, and even earned an honorary degree from Notre Dame.
"I have cried twice in my life. Once when I was seven and I was hit by a school bus, and then again when I heard that Li'l Sebastian passed," longtime admirer Ron Swanson lamented at his funeral.
In spite of their diminutive stature, both Li'l Sebastian and Cowboy Joe have had an enormous impact. But which miniature horse towers over the rest? Tell us what you think.
