This album from The James Gang could be dangerous for your turntable. Most turntables were made to automatically lift the tonearm when the end of an album side was reached. But at the end of side one of this Joe Walsh and The James Gang album was a small recording in the inner groove that said “Turn me over” and at the end of side two, “Play me again.” For those with manual turntables, one or the other would play forever until something was done. Those with automatic turntables would sometimes break their mechanisms trying to get to it. Being passionate could cost you.

When albums took over from singles, musicians pushed to deeper levels and different flavors of Jazz, Blues, Rock, Country, Reggae, Soul, R&B, Celtic and other ingredients that made so many of us passionate about the music.

Relive those days tonight Thursday, October 1st at the Knights of the Turntable at Phoenix Books & Music in Cheyenne
