New Wyoming Extreme Adventure Coming For The Brave
It's called Via Ferrata, and it is the new outdoor adventure at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. This guided and assisted climbing activity takes you high above the valley floor, across suspended bridges and along granite walls led by a knowledgeable guide. It lets inexperienced and novice climbers access more challenging and dangerous routes without the risks formerly only for highly experienced mountaineers.
Via Ferrata is Italian for “Iron road,” a protected route through mountain terrain using iron cable so climbers can secure themselves to the cable, limiting any fall. The cable can also be used as an aid to climbing, and additional climbing aids, such as iron rungs (stemples), pegs, carved steps and even ladders and bridges are often provided.
Via Ferrata got its start in Italy’s Dolomite mountains, as seen here.
Rates start at $109 per person for Via Ferrate, now available in Jackson Hole.
