Not Too Early For Controlled Burns, In Snowy Range
Not too much snow left on the way into Centennial, but just a little higher...
Over the weekend, my wife & I took a little drive just to get into the Snowy Range and maybe do a hot springs soak in Saratoga. We cruised out of Laramie on I-30 and made it past Centennial and then ran into a road closed sign. There’s still a lot of snow up there, odd for a place called Snowy Range.
Snow or not, the Medicine Bow National Forrest fire crews are talking about clearing the fire hazard undergrowth out and improve the environment for flora & fauna. If conditions are optimal, the controlled burns west of Encampment, could start as soon as this week.
