Now Closed: Cheyenne’s Railyard Cafe Quietly Closes Doors
Another cafe has come and gone in the capital city. The Railyard Cafe has closed its doors without fanfare or an official announcement.
Railyard Cafe Closes in Cheyenne
Located at 620 E Pershing Blvd #120 next to Gold's Gym and the Nutrition Company, Railyard served Wyoming-roasted coffee, breakfast, and brunch. Its closure came unexpectedly, with no official closure post or announcement on the restaurant's Facebook page, just a quiet change on the business's "About" section to the status of permanently closed. The exact date of closure is a mystery; even Google thinks the restaurant is still open as of today, November 2, 2023.
I stumbled across the closure by accident today. I had been intent on sipping some coffee and enjoying the cafe's delicious breakfast burrito before work. To my dismay, I walked up to dark windows and an empty restaurant. The Railyard sign was gone from the building's exterior; window decals were partially removed. There was no sign indicating a closure, just empty space.
When Did Railyard Officially Close? The Mystery Remains...
The last time I visited Railyard was in late August. The cafe had been busy and looked to be thriving. I'm sad to see the establishment go - it was always a pleasant experience to swing by for a cappuccino after my gym visit. Sometime between my August visit and November, the cafe closed. Strangely, the Google hours listing was updated nine weeks ago with new hours.
Will Railyard reopen? Will a new establishment take its place? At this time, it's unclear. Railyard has not responded to my inquiry, but you can bet I'll keep you updated with new details as they arise.
If Railyard doesn't plan to reopen, what do you think should fill the void at 620 E Pershing Blvd #120? I'd be game for another breakfast/brunch spot. Drop your ideas below:
