Cheyenne police will be stepping up their game this Super Bowl weekend in an effort to deter football fans from driving drunk.

"We'll have extra officers staffed up and our DUI van will be out as well," said Public Information Officer Alex Farkas.

Farkas urges those who plan on drinking to play it smart and designate a sober driver.

"If you can't find a friend to give you a ride home then consider using a rideshare app like Uber or Lyft," she said.

Farkas says the following things are cheaper than a first offense DUI, which will cost you up to $750 in Wyoming:

  • a PS5
  • an Uber to Taco Bell, around the city, and then home
  • a Lyft to Wendy's, spicy nuggets for the entire Wyoming football team, and a $50 tip for your driver
  • a new pet turtle

Farkas urges people to call 911 or local law enforcement if they suspect someone is driving drunk.
