Officials to Cut Ribbon on Cheyenne Civic Center Commons May 11

Cheyenne's recently completed Civic Center Commons will officially open to the public next Saturday, May 11.

Formerly a city parking lot, the location was transformed into a park and flood control basin for the downtown Cheyenne area.

City officials and community members broke ground on the park last May, after the City Council voted 9 to 1 during a special meeting to move forward with the project.

A grand opening will take place on May 11 at 9 a.m., and will feature remarks from Mayor Marian Orr.
