The Torrington Police Department is asking for the community's help in gathering information about a string of auto burglaries believed to have been committed during the early morning hours of June 8.

According to a department Facebook post, at least a dozen unlocked vehicles were entered on Rio Vista Road, West C Street, West D Street, and East A Street.

"If you live near any of these locations and your video system captured suspicious behavior between approximately 1:00am and 4:00am, please preserve the video and contact Torrington Police Department at 307-532-7001," the post reads.

Police say it's important that the community works together to help prevent crimes of this nature.

"Please remember to lock your vehicles when they are parked outside, don’t store items of value in your vehicle, keep an eye out for your neighbors, and give us a call if you see anything suspicious," they said.
