Reviewing Cheyenne’s New Spot For Wings
Cheyenne's newest wing spot opened in late May 2017, and I just had an opportunity to grab dinner for the first time.
Wing Shack is located in the complex off of Stillwater Ave next to the Zoetry Pet Clinic, Hot Spot Tanning, and Pediatric Dentistry of Wyoming.
Their wing sauces include: Mild, Barely Hot, Hot, Garlic Hot, Golden Hot, Hotter, Bear Hot, BBQ, Teriyaki, Buffalo BBQ, Hot Teriyaki, and Thai.
You can order wings in increments of 5, and per each 5 you can choose a different sauce. I tried the BBQ, Buffalo BBQ, and Garlic Hot. I thought each of them were very good. The Buffalo BBQ has quite a bit of heat to it, so fair warning there.
Wing Shack also serves up a variety of sides including "shack mac." These are deep fried nuggets with macaroni and cheese inside. Great soul food, however not part of a healthy diet.
They also do sandwiches, salads, wraps, and have a solid selection of traditional and craft beer. The building setup creates a nice, casual atmosphere. Sports fans will be happy with the TV, which had a Colorado Rockies game on when I went in.
I would recommend ordering online either for take-out or dine-in. There's a solid 15/20 minute wait for your wings if you order there.
Wing Shack's largest competitor is likely the big chain, Buffalo Wild Wings. However, there are some other solid wing options around Cheyenne like Accomplice Brewing Company.
Overall, if you're a wing lover, I would absolutely recommend hitting Wing Shack and seeing what you think!
