The Cheyenne Police Department will be closing multiple roads near the State Capitol on July 10 for Wyoming’s 125th anniversary celebration, according to Officer Dan Long.

The roads are being closed due to the amount of pedestrian traffic participating in the multiple events in the area of the State Capitol.

Central Avenue at East Pershing Boulevard and 24th Street will close at 8:30 a.m. Capitol Avenue at 24th Street will close at 1 p.m. along with 24th Street from Carey Avenue to Warren Avenue. These roads will remain closed until festivities end later in the night.

Road closures related to the fireworks show will close at 8:30 p.m. and include Carey Avenue at 23rd Street, Pioneer Avenue at 25th Street, and 24th Street at O Neil Avenue and Thomes Avenue.

The celebration starts at 3 p.m. on the lawn south of the Capitol. There will be food, games, live music, and evening fireworks.
