Townsquare Media Casper announces another year of fun and excitement with two headline acts for the 19th annual Beartrap Summer Festival! “We have Rodney Crowell with us on Saturday, August 3rd and bluegrass phenom Sam Bush Sunday, August 4th,” said festival coordinator Jana Price. “This year’s entire lineup is definitely the best we’ve had so far!”

Rodney Crowell - I Couldn't Leave You If I Tried

Grammy award winner Rodney Crowell is known as a poet among songwriters. Migrating from Texas to Nashville in the 1970’s, he honed his singer/songwriter skills in Emmylou Harris’s Hot Band. After spending several years in his own band The Cherry Bombs, Crowell began his solo career with 1988’s Diamonds and Dirt – a collection that charted an unprecedented 5 #1 singles. Since then, Crowell has released 14 studio albums. He’s produced artists like Roseanne Cash and Chely Wright, and written a critically acclaimed memoir titled Chinaberry Sidewalks. His songs have been recorded by many respected artists – Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Waylon Jennings and Keith Urban, to name a few.

Sam Bush - Circles Around Me

Sam Bush bought his first mandolin at age 11. As a teen, he took first place three times in the junior division of the National Oldtime Fiddlers’ Contest in Weiser, Idaho. He was a founding member of New Grass Revival, and is often referred to as “The Father of NewGrass.” He’s churned out eight solo albums since 1985, and has performed with numerous artists like Bela Fleck, Mark O’Connor, and Lyle Lovett. He’s also a member of the Telluride House Band, along with Bela Fleck, Stuart Duncan, Jerry Douglas, Edgar Meyer and Bryan Sutton. Accolades include hosting the International Bluegrass Music Awards twice and receiving their recognition for Mandolin Player of the Year 4 times, as well as several Grammys.
