The Salvation Army has a way of living up to it's name - "Doing the most good." There are so many ways the Salvation Army serves local residents here in Cheyenne.

On Friday, the 2nd Annual "Kettle Kick-Off" took place at Little America in the Wyoming Room. People from all around the community filled the dinning room for food, photos and a presentation of why we should give to the Salvation Army.

Lt. Doug Hanson and his lovely wife Betzy, pastors of the local church, reminded us of how much need there is in Cheyenne and how they are doing their part to help them.

The room was accompanied with wonderful sounds of Christmas as East High Schools "Strolling Strings" entertained with violins, guitars and other stringed instruments.

The guest speaker was Mayor Rick Kaysen. We were reminded that he had served as a point man and dog handler in Vietnam and how he handled the sorrow of leaving his Army dog "Toni" behind, against his will, once his tour was over.

The Salvation Army really is doing a lot of good in Cheyenne to help people. So this holiday season, let's help them by helping others when we drop our spare change and bills in the little red kettle next to the bell ringer.
