A winter weather system moving across Wyoming Saturday and Sunday will bring snow and blowing snow. Travel could be difficult with snow covered roads and white-out conditions possible.

As of Saturday morning, snow was falling west of Laramie causing difficult travel on Interstate 80 between Rawlins and Laramie.

For the Cheyenne area, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 5:00 PM Saturday until 5:00 PM Sunday. The main threats with this system are expected to be one to three inches of snow combining with winds gusting up to 60 miles per hour causing blowing and drifting snow.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

A High Wind Warning is also in effect until 11:00 PM Saturday for much of south-central Wyoming. Winda out of the west at 35 to 45 MPH with gusts up to 65 MPH are expected Saturday afternoon and evening.
