Tornado sirens will sound at 10:30 a.m. Friday, as the National Weather Service and Wyoming Department of Homeland Security officials conduct a statewide tornado drill. This is part of Severe Weather Awareness week, and is designed to test the sirens, and allow residents to practice their plans to protect themselves in the event of severe weather.

Local sirens will sound, schools will conduct drills and the Emergency Alert System will be activated on radio stations as part of the statewide drill.

Officials say you don’t need to take any action during the drill, but it is a good time to become familiar with safety rules and make plans to protect yourself when storms develop.

More information is available on the National Weather Service website.
