People who have been yearning for the arrival of summer in southeast Wyoming should enjoy the weather going into the Easter weekend.

Sunshine and mid-70s temperatures are expected on Friday and Saturday, with favorable conditions for Easter egg hunts or holiday travel.

But the weather will take a turn for the cooler on Easter Sunday with rain possible and high temperatures in the 50s,  Snow is possible again by Monday.

The Cheyenne office of the National Weather Service posted this statement on its website on Thursday morning:

''425 AM MDT Thursday, April 18 -- A few light rain or snow showers will remain possible early this morning, but expect precipitation chances to quickly diminish with skies clearing this afternoon & evening. Windy conditions are likely for much of the area today, with gusts 35-45 MPH possible through the afternoon. Warming temperatures are forecast for Friday and Saturday, with widespread highs in the 65-75 degree range expected. Thunderstorm chances will return on Saturday afternoon and evening.''
