Buffett died "peacefully" on Friday night, according to a statement.

"I feel very proud of surviving," he said not too long ago. "I'm still out there — where would I go?"

Jimmy Buffett, the man who turned laid-back beach vibes into a "Margaritaville" empire has passed away at the age of 76.
