2017 has been a stellar year for cellestial celebrations in Wyoming and we've got one more astronomical event left on our cosmic calendar.

Sunday morning at 8:46 a.m, the "Super Moon" will go full directly over the Cowboy State. The moon's orbit will be closer to Earth and will appear to be seven percent larger and 16 percent brighter than normal.

This weekend's event marks the first Super Moon since last November, when the moon was the closest it has been in 68 years. This Super Moon won't be as bright as last year's.

Although the moon will go completely full on Sunday morning, the best time to see it will be after sunset on Saturday night. According to NASA, that's due to an optical illusion that makes objects on the horizon appear bigger.
