Toddler Reunited With Family After Scary Night In Wyoming Hotel
A family road trip turned into every parent's nightmare in Gillette this week when a two-year-old boy left a hotel room and got lost in the middle of the night.
A hotel employee called Gillette Police after finding the child roaming through the hallway knocking on doors around 3 a.m. Wednesday, according to County 17. When police arrived, they went door to door searching for the child's parents. After waking up guests in 45 of the 47 occupied rooms, the search was called off and the boy was transferred to the local Department of Family Services.
A few hours later, when the boy's parents woke up and couldn't find their son, they called the police shortly after 7 a.m. They later explained that several children were sleeping in the room when the toddler slipped out unnoticed.
Luckily, the boy and his family were reunited a few hours later. No charges will be filed against the parents, but the family did learn an important lesson...always lock the door when you're staying at a hotel.
