Everyone has their favorite type and breed of dog. I love dogs and have grown up with them most of my childhood life. Dogs are like ties. Some look great and some make you wonder what the owner finds attractive in them.

Today on the Top 5 at 7:45, I'll highlight my top favorite dogs. Feel free to tell us about your favorite K9 in the comments section below. The Top 5 at 7:45 airs weekdays on KGAB Mornings with me, Gary Freeman and brought to you by First Education Federal Credit Union.

  1. St. Bernard - By far my all-time favorite breed of dog. I had one when I was about 3 years old and have loved them ever since.
  2. Labrador Retriever - This breed of dog has been voted America's favorite dog for about the last 22 years. A very well-tempered dog and good for hunting.
  3. Cocker Spaniel - I really like this dog. Granted they are smaller and pee when they get excited. Blonde's are my favorite and are "more fun."
  4. Poodles - Large or small it doesn't matter. These dogs were originally bred for hunting bore and ducks. Plus, they sport some pretty wild haircuts.
  5. Terriers - A lot of character and a lot of spunk. They look great and are not too big either. A great all-around dog.
