Two New Wyoming Football Recruits Make Yahoo Sports ‘All-Name Team’
In heaven, there is no beer, but there is now a Beerup in Laramie. Quarterback Gavin Beerup was one of 18 recruits who committed to the University of Wyoming yesterday and he's already getting national attention.
Yahoo Sports announced unveiled their National Signing Day All-Name Team this morning, which included the three-star prospect from Ventura, Calif. at quarterback. Beerup's future teammate, offensive tackle Kohl Herbolsheimer from Omaha, Neb. also made the All-Name team.
Before they even step on the field, Beerup and Herbolsheimer appear destined to become campus legends. With a name like Beerup, the 6'5" quarterback could eventually be more popular than former Wyoming signal-caller Jay Stoner was in the late '90s. Meanwhile, the 6'3", 277-lb. Herbolsheimer sounds like an early favorite to win one of ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit's "Herbie Awards".
Other standouts from Yahoo's All Name Team include UNC-Charlotte offensive lineman Panda Askew, Florida State quarterback Chubba Purdy, Tulsa defensive lineman Jaden Muskrat, and Maryland linebacker Ruben Hyppolite.
