Having your brother-in-law hang out with you at your job can sometimes be a drag. Unless, of course, you're Joe Walsh, in which case you get to call out Ringo Starr. That's what happened Friday (May 20) during Walsh's concert at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif.

Starr, whose wife, Barbara Bach, is the sister of Walsh's wife, Marjorie, came out for the first encore, which was "Rocky Mountain Way," a song Walsh co-wrote and recorded with his then-backing band Barnstorm for 1973's The Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get. It was his first single after leaving the James Gang, and, propelled by Walsh's slide guitar and talk box, hit No. 23 on the Billboard Hot 100.

"That don't happen every day," Walsh dryly said upon the song's conclusion. He then performed "All Night Long," his Top 20 hit that was featured on the soundtrack to Urban Cowboy. Both songs are embedded above.

Prior to Starr's appearance, Walsh's 11-song main set spanned his career, opening with the James Gang's "Walk Away" and ending with the Eagles' "Life in the Fast Lane." In between were such classics as "In the City," "Life's Been Good," "Funk #49" and, in memory of Glenn Frey, "Take It to the Limit."

Walsh is currently taking part in the One Hell of a Night co-headlining tour with Bad Company, which will run for another six weeks before wrapping up at the Carl Black Chevy Woods Amphitheatre in Nashville. Two weeks later, on July 16, he will kick off a solo jaunt at the PNC Pavillion in Cincinnati that will conclude on Sept. 17 at the Belly Up in Aspen, Colo.
