The Laramie County Sheriff's Office says Monday's poor weather conditions are to blame for a crash that killed a 19-year-old man.

Lt. Don Hollingshead says a 17-year-old girl was headed north in the 6500 block of Ridge Road around 5:30 p.m. when she lost control of her car.

"She crossed over the center line into the oncoming lane of traffic and her car spun sideways," said Hollingshead.

"The other car that was heading southbound T-boned the 17-year-old's car right between the wheel wells causing the impact to push the passenger's side door into the passenger's side compartment," he added.

The girl and her passenger, Dakota Wright, were extricated from the car and taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, where Wright died from his injuries.

The driver of the southbound car, 37-year-old Kathleen Cassidy, only sustained minor injuries.

Hollingshead says alcohol doesn't appear to have been a factor in the crash.
