Wyoming, just like every other state, has it's own set of laws.  Most of these laws are widely acknowledged and accepted.  If you dig deep into the Wyoming law book, you will find some obscure laws you probably didn't know existed.  You may have broken the law and didn't even know it.  This list should get you back on track to being a law abiding citizen.

For an idea to become a law, it has to overcome an extensive process.  Many proposed laws fail during this process and a small amount actually get drafted into laws.  It really amazes me that some of these obscure laws made it it all the way to becoming a law.  I can't be sure how old or how long some of these laws have been in place.  But despite their age, some of these laws make some sense and others are just down right odd.  Take a look at the list and see if you have broken any of these curious laws.

  • All new buildings that cost over $100,000 to build must have %1 of funds spent on art work for the building.
  • If one is drunk in a mine, he or she could land in jail for up to a year.

  • Junk dealers may not make any business transactions with drunk persons.

  • It is illegal to wear a hat that obstructs people's view in a public theater or place of amusement.

  • Using a firearm to fish is strictly forbidden.

  • Any person who fails to close a fence is subject to a fine of up to seven hundred and fifty dollars.

  • It is illegal for women to stand within five feet of a bar while drinking.

  • You may not take a picture of a rabbit from January to April without an official permit.

  • Skiing under the influence of alcohol is prohibited.

  • In Cheyenne - It is illegal to spit on the steps of a school.
As I mentioned, some of these laws make sense, others are just plain weird.  Regardless, these are laws we're are expected to abide by.  Now that you are informed, you can honestly say you are a law abiding citizen.
