 Colorado Avalanche Stanley Cup Finals Bound For Third Time In Franchise History

The 2022 Playoff theme for Colorado Avalanche has been "Find A Way," and they found their way through the first three rounds in the NHL Playoffs and got the 12 wins needed to secure their spot in the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals. I remember the amazing Stanley Cup Championship runs they had when they first got to Denver in 1996, then again in 2001. I'm here to tell you that what we've experienced this season has the same electricity and momentum needed to bring home the Avs' third Stanley Cup Championship.  It's very exciting!

Is The Long Break For The Colorado Avalance Before Stanley Cup Finals Bad?

With the clean sweep over the Edmonton Oilers last night, the Colorado Avalance has set up a much-needed break to rest, heal, and prepare physically and mentally for the final round. Four more wins, that's all we need to hoist that cup in Denver once again. With the Stanley Cup Finals to either begin on June 15th or 18th, that's quite a bit of downtime between the series'. Will that much rest be a good or bad thing though?

Here's why I bring this up... Back in 2007, the Colorado Rockies swept the Arizona Diamondbacks to win the National League Championship and punch their ticket to the World Series. Game four of the NLCS was on October 15th. The first game of that year's World Series was on October 24th. The Colorado Rockies were dominated and swept in that series by the Boston Red Sox and the word was that the long break "cooled them down." If the Stanley Cup Finals start on June 15th, that's 9 days. It's 12 days if they get pushed to the 18th. Do we risk cooling down too much and losing the momentum we've built up, or does that not matter because these fellas are too fired up? Personally, I hope they come out rested, healed up, and bring our third Stanley Cup Championship back to the State. Go Avs Go.
