Sunday will be a big day for the Wyoming football team, as they will find out if they’re going bowling for a third consecutive season.

Wyoming is bowl eligible with its 6-6 overall record, but since there are only five guaranteed bowl agreements with the Mountain West and seven teams are bowl eligible, the Cowboys might be left out. This was broken down in a commentary KOWB had earlier in the week.

Seeking more insight into UW’s conversation about a potential bowl game, host David Settle visited with University of Wyoming Athletics Director Tom Burman during Friday’s “Laramie Live on KOWB” radio morning show. Burman discussed what’s being talked about, how the process works, verified they have not been told “no” by anyone, and that there are factors out of their control that have to fall UW’s way.

If the Cowboys do receive an invitation to a bowl game, it would be the first time in school history the program has played in a bowl game in three consecutive seasons.

The wait continues.
