Wyoming Hitman Plot Featured On New TV Series ‘Murder For Hire’
In 2014, a therapist in Casper attempted to hire a hitman to kill her ex-husband. The man she tried to murder will recount the story on the series premiere of the true-crime show "Murder For Hire", which debuts Sunday on the Oxygen Network.
Prosecutors claim Cynthia Guy approached patients at Central Wyoming Counseling Center where she worked, asking them to arrange the murder of Terry Thomas, whom she had recently divorced. One patient reported her to the police, who sent an undercover officer disguised as a hitman. After offering to pay $4,000 for the killing, Guy showed the agent how to enter her ex-husband's house and instructed him to make it look like a botched robbery. In 2016, she pled guilty to solicitation of aggravated kidnapping and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
During the show, Thomas reflects on his turbulent marriage and offers a warning to others.
"I don’t believe it’s good to stay in a bad relationship, but when it’s time to exit… be aware of what potential is there,” he said. “Never would I thought it would have come to this. Sometimes people you think you know are the proverbial wolf in sheep’s clothing.”
