A pair of Wyoming residents have been arrested in connection with an assault that left a man with serious injuries earlier this summer.

According to a post on the Fort Collins Police Services Facebook page, the incident happened on July 28, 2019, when a man tried to intervene in a verbal disturbance between a man and a woman. The males suspect allegedly punched the man who intervened, sending him to the ground and causing serious injuries.

The suspect then ran away before police arrived.

Investigators interviewed the woman who had been involved in the altercation, who insisted that she had just met the suspect that night and didn't know who he was. But as detectives looked into the case further, they found out that she was lying and had actually been in a relationship with the male suspect.

As they investigated the case, they identified the male suspect as 25-year-old Noah DeWitt of Casper.

Both DeWitt and the woman, 27-year old Katlynn Garner, have been arrested in Casper. DeWitt was arrested on charges of Second Degree Assult, which is a class 4 felony. Garner was arrested on a charge of Attempt to Influence a Public Servant, which is also a class 4 felony.
