Wyoming All-American Bryce Meredith is one step closer to a national title. After suffering a gash on his forehead in his opening round victory last night, Meredith wasted little time in the quarterfinals, pinning Eastern Michigan's Sa'Derian Perry in the first period.

Top-seeded Meredith will face #4 seed Joey McKenna from Ohio State in the 141-lb. semifinals. The semifinal round begins tonight at 6 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN. If Meredith wins, he will face either #2 seed Jayden Eierman from Missouri or the #3 seed Yianni Diakomihalis from Cornell. The NCAA wrestling finals will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday and will air on ESPN2.

The Cheyenne native is seeking to become Wyoming's first national champion since Dick Ballinger won the 167-lb. title in 1960. Meredith took second place in 2016.
